From press release:
"An exhibition, Polish Posters, is being sponsored by the Polish Arts Club of Buffalo at the Charles Burchfield Center-Western New York Forum for American Art, Buffalo State College, May 11 to June 15.
The 180 posters from the early 1900s to the present have been lent by the Poster Museum in Warsaw, the world's first museum devoted exclusively to poster art. They illustrate the quality and the historical development of the poster in Poland.
Rather than being commercial in their messages, Polish posters generally deal with social warnings, cultural events, and international concerns. The exhibition will include examples of all these types and represent the work of 55 artists, including Lenica, Palka, Swierzy, and Sawka."
