Alan Friedman is a citizen astronomer and astrophotographer who captures detailed portraits of our neighborhood star from an unlikely location – a backyard in downtown Buffalo, NY.
His talk "Catching Sunlight" will offer an overview of his work from the past two decades, discuss the techniques and tools he has developed to create his images and give us some insider tips on making the most of the April 8th total solar eclipse… the first visible from Buffalo in a hundred years. The artist's presentation is offered in concert with the exhibition, Total Solar Eclipse & Astral Visions: Works by Charles E. Burchfield & Alan Friedman.
This event is free with admission.
A Burchfield Penney Members’ reception will follow the presentation. Learn more here.
