Get ready to celebrate culture, community, and creativity at an unforgettable FREE event! On February 25th, the Buffalo United Resiliency Center (BURC) invites you to join us for a fun-filled evening at the Burchfield Penney, where we’ll be creating our very own Community Quilt — exploring the rich history of African American quilting!
🎶 Enjoy a lively performance by the amazing Jukeboxx, and a delicious "Taste of Soul" courtesy of Manna at Northland. It's the perfect atmosphere to express yourself and celebrate Black history!
Let your creativity shine! Grab a fabric marker and add your unique message or drawing to a blank quilt square. Each contribution will be a cherished part of this collective work of art.
🧵 The talented quilters from the Senior Multi-Service Center will later incorporate these squares with African textiles into three stunning quilts. These masterpieces will be proudly displayed at the Buffalo Urban League, the Burchfield Penney, and the Multi-Service Center.
Join Storyteller Sharon Holley, Associate Professor of African American Studies Dr. Lillian S. Williams, and Artist Phyllis Thompson for an evening of creativity, connection, and celebration of our rich heritage. Let’s stitch our stories together!
Looking forward to seeing you there!
