The Buffalo Urban League, in partnership with the Burchfield Penney Art Center, invites the community to Vision & Verse, the third annual interactive celebration of Black History through art, poetry, music, and food.

This special evening will feature New York State Attorney General Letitia James as a guest speaker, followed by an immersive poetry experience led by Buffalo Poet Laureate Aitina Fareed-Cooke. In a unique, participatory performance, Fareed-Cooke will invite audience members to help create an original poem honoring Black history, culture, and vision. As the poem unfolds, artist Michael Constantine will simultaneously create a live painting inspired by the verses, bringing words and visuals together in real time.
Vision & Verse is designed as an all-ages, community-centered experience. Guests will also enjoy food and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere of connection, creativity, and celebration.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m., with the program beginning promptly at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
