Stained Glass Chalk Art

First, a big thank you to all the parents and kids that came out for our first Saturday on the Front Yard program on July 10th. Our theme for the day was Stained Glass Chalk Art. This is a super easy, fun activity to get the kids outside and stretch their creative muscles.

Materials: 
Sidewalk Chalk
Painter's Tape
Instructions: 
Start by laying your tape out in fun geometric shapes. You can create shapes, creatures or simply design something abstract. The possibilities are endless!

Next, start coloring each area, making sure to fill all of the spaces. As you color in each space, the patterns emerging will look really cool. 

Lastly, removing the tape to show the negative space, creating this stained glass effect.
