XIII is a dedicated artist and growing system whose organic and otherworldly paintings and illustrations aim to blur the lines between our waking, subconscious and manufactured realities. Being born in the spring, XIII embodies the concept of death and rebirth and often conveys messages of hope and wonder, through vivid, feminine, and often mystical imagery.
With the desire to pursue drawing and fashion at a young age, XIII would choose to major in Visual Arts studies at The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, and go on to win scholarships and study animation and illustration at Daemen University. Throughout their schooling, XIII worked as a freelance illustrator, designer and painter.
XIII’s works have been featured in numerous galleries and art spaces around Western New York, including the Burchfield Penney Art Center, C. Stuart and Jane H. Hunt Gallery, the Buffalo History Museum, Pine Apple Company, and Princessa’s Studio and Art Gallery, and has permanent mural installations in Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Irving, New York.
