Sharon Mendola was a professor of design at Buffalo State College whose abstract works are infused with light, color, and rhythm. Mendola stopped painting on canvas in 1985 when illness affected her productivity. However, beginning in 1995, she started to use computer technology to continue to evolve her work, and the smaller-scale computer prints are richly constructed of subtle color and texture overlays
