Robert North was a Western New York architect, designer, and painter originally from East Aurora, New York. Although he painted Western New York landscapes, his best works were painted in Europe. North exhibited his paintings with the Buffalo Society of Artists from 1933-1934, the Artists of Western New York from 1934-1935 where he won a prize, and the Albright Art Gallery. North’s work as an architect included designing several churches and buildings, most notably the Saint Matthias Episcopal Church and Parish House in East Aurora, where he was also a parishioner.
