R. Douglas Rumsey is a woodworker, scientist, and inventor who has made furniture, carved sculpture, and built a racing boat. His son, Nicholas Perry Rumsey (born 1946), and his wife, Monica Scanlon Rumsey (born 1944), have collaborated on a number of custom marquetry commissions, both full-sized cabinetry and smaller boxes.
