Russian-born Israeli composer, violin, viola, bandoneon, and accordion player Moshe Shulman received both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in composition from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and a PhD in composition from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB). He has received many honors for his compositions and his accomplishments as a graduate student at UB.
Shulman is a performer of classical music, Argentine tango, Klezmer, and Gypsy music. In spring 2012 he led the Baires Klezmer Orchestra in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in summer 2012 formed the Buffalo Tango Orkestra for which he arranges the music.
Shulman serves on the Music Faculty at University at Buffalo teaching Klezmer History and Performance and is composer in residence with the Commonwealth Lyric Theater in Boston, Massachusetts.
