Megan Grace Beugger is a composer based in Buffalo, N.Y. She is particularly interested in creating direct relationships between the physicality of performance and sound production, timbre, and durational elements. In addition to music, she has a strong interest and background in visual arts, which has been a major influence on her work. [1]
Beugger has received numerous commissions from musicians including violinist Austin Wulliman and cellist Katinka Kleijn. Her compositions have been recorded by such musicians as the JACK string quartet and Arditti cellist Lucas Fels. In 2010, she graduated cum laude from Northwestern University with departmental honors. Beugger received a Presidential Fellowship while working towards her PhD in composition at SUNY University at Buffalo.
