Linda Brooks is an art teacher at St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She received her B.F.A. in 1973 and M.F.A. in 1976 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has worked as an artist and teacher in the Twin Cities for more than 30 years. Her photographs have been included in more than 75 group exhibitions at sites including Aperture, Santa Fe Center for Photography, Hallwalls, and the 5th Vienna Biennale in Austria. Brooks has had solo exhibitions at more than a dozen venues, including the International Museum of Photography and Film/George Eastman House, Walker Art Center, Cultural Center in Chicago, and the St. Paul Jewish Community Center. She received artist fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Minnesota State Arts Board and the McKnight Foundation. Her photographs are in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Minnesota Historical Society, International Museum of Photography and Film/George Eastman House, and The Brooklyn Museum. Her work is included in the anthology Reframings: New American Feminist Photographies.
