Lily Booth is an artist who works with textiles and fabric. Her work subtly explores gender roles and the traditional roles of women, and offers "jarring disjunctions between a frilly medium and the unsettling messages the delicate stiches keep moving, working through anxiety over the broken legacy we leave to the next generation" (Lily Booth). Her focus is on the power of art to convey a civic message, using critical analysis of "antiquated gender roles and modern political and social issues engaging the viewer in a conversation with their conscience" (Lily Booth).
Lily Booth and her family have lived in western New York for four generations. She attended college at Buffalo State College. She currently lives and works in western New York, as a teaching artist at Starlight Studios.
