Katrin Jurati

"Katrin (Jurati) Rush, born in 1966 in the Black Forest of Germany, raised in the outskirts of Buffalo, New York, half German, half Persian, now lives and works in the mountains of Ojai, California. Rush received her MFA at California Institute of the Arts (2002), where she later taught as Visiting Professor (2007); she organized the New Orleans Art Auction at Blum & Poe, Los Angeles (2005); was Teaching Artist at Studio In A School, New York City (1995-1999); Co-Founder and Curator of artist run Deep Space Gallery in Lower Manhattan (1993-1990) and Big Orbit Gallery, Buffalo (1991-1993)[with co-founder with Alan Van Every]."— excerpt of the artist's bio, January 2026
