John worked as an installer at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY 1979-83. He facilitated loans of art to the Burchfield Penney Art Centerwhile serving as the Senior Registrar at the San Diego Museum of Art. He has donated art to the Burchfield Penney, including Eleck Hall photographs and a large non-objective acrylic painting by himself titled Un Occhio (per M), which was exhibited at the Albrihgt-Knox in focused artist survey, "In Western New York, 1979." He shared that he "continued to make paintings until I left Buffalo in 1983. The AKAG acquired one of my oval drawings in 1983."
