Glenn Zweygardt is a sculptor whose work transcends eras with his use of ancient materials for contemporary concepts. The artist was born in Kansas and earned his BFA at Wichita State, followed by an MFA at the Maryland Institute of Arts in 1969. Zweygardt is a Professor Emeritus New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. The artist has remained in the Alfred area where he continues to produce pieces of varying materials and themes, seeking to further his understanding between artist, technology and nature. Zweygardt has shown as both a solo artist at many institutions throughout the country including Lehigh University, Columbus Cultural Arts Center, Chautauqua Art Association Gallery as well as part of a group exhibition internationally including Dresden, Germany and Tel Aviv, Israel.
