Richard H. Bradley earned a bachelor's degree in art education from Buffalo State College and served in the Army Reserve. He taught art in Buffalo schools before being hired by the Buffalo News in 1974. He was a graphic artist there for thirty years and provided its featured Saturday sports cartoons for 20 years. He also free-lanced cartoons and drawings to other publications, including the New York Times, Sporting News, and Playboy magazine.
