Dennis Maher fuses sculpture, installation, architecture, and design through fantastic, mythic environments constructed from found and newly built fragments. Maher’s Architectural Dreamworlds are tactile, sensory-rich experiences that reconnect people with materials, memory, and imagination. Within these reassembled worlds, we are invited to recover lost pieces of ourselves that we didn’t know were missing. Based in Buffalo, New York, Maher’s studio extends from his Maher’s seminal projects—The Fargo House and The Assembly House—which together form an evolving ecosystem for creative construction, material experimentation, and education. Through collaborations with builders, craftspeople, and apprentices, the studio renews relationships between making, memory, and place. In an era increasingly detached from physical experience, Maher reasserts the visionary power of ‘the things that touch us’, transforming remnants of the everyday into environments of wonder and reflection.
