(1935-2017)
American
Born: Cleveland, Ohio, USA
Retired from teaching, Dennis Dorogi built a studio, opened a business in Brockton, New York, and became widely known as a master craftsman and luthier, building and selling hundreds of finely hand-crafted mountain and hammered dulcimers and psalteries throughout the United States. As he gradually lessened this business, he continued a demanding hobby of long interest, the art of restoring automobiles, especially Chevrolet Corvairs. Most recently [as of 2017] he worked on a historic auto, a Spyder Corvair once owned by the New York scientist Carl Sagan. -- excerpt from the obituary in The Observer, May 18, 2017: https://chautauquatoday.com/obits/details.cfm?id=28385#.YEY5aGhKgdU
