David W. Rumsey works in wood and metal, including making duck decoys, miniature guns and rifles, and ornamented furniture. He received the Red Jacket Award from the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society (now Buffalo History Museum) in 1995 "in recognition of 'quiet, continued, unbroken devotion to our civic progress and needs by one who, through such devotion, has thereby enlarged our awareness of our heritage in order that it may be built upon for the enrichment of our future.." His grandfather was Bronson Rumsey (1853-1946) and his father was Daniel Lockwood Rumsey (1900-1956). Professionally, he is a real estate broker.
