Barbara Baird is a Western New York artist who earned her B.F.A. from the University of Dayton in 1972. Since then she has exhibited in both solo and group exhibits mostly in Western New York but also in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Vermont. Baird has dedicated her work to the investigation of the merge between the natural and mand made grid and how they intersect in the landscape that surrounds us. Her works are either oil or acryllic on canvas or paper. Her most recent work is woven; the artist weaves two paintings together to create dimension and to ignite a curiousity for the viewer as they can only see half of the painting.
