Allie H. Anderson

Allie H. Anderson, Clarence Scott, James Pappas and Wilhelmina Godfrey co-founded the Langston Hughes Center for the Visual and Performing Arts in Buffalo’s inner city during the 1960s. Anderson’s art was included in two Western New York exhibitions at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery with illustrations published in the catalogue of his prize-winning metal sculptures. In the 28^th exhibition (March 23-April 26, 1964) he showed Untitled that received “The Hard Manufacturing Company Award for welded sculpture.” In the 29^th (April 26-May 30, 1965) he exhibited Bird I, which won “The Menno Alexander Reeb Memorial Award.”
