Practicing primarily as a graphic designer, Clarence Scott met Pappas during their studies at the University at Buffalo and was inspired by his drive and innovative risk in conceptualizing an inner-city arts center. Captivated by the potential of the project and at Pappas’ urging, Scott wrote the letter for the group’s first New York State Council on the Arts grant, managing the budget for their first pilot program. He would teach several classes during the pilot programs as well as at the LHCVPA. Following his time at the center Scott relocated to California, where he currently resides. Working for Grossmont College in California he organized and planned some of its first graphic design courses. This poster is one example of his work while at the college.
