“Crow’s Ballad – A response to Scott Losi”
I am not deterred
By your rusted nails
Your icy demeanor
Your wooden fence
Barbed
With wire.
I echo the women
The strength
That came before me.
I push
Past
Barriers
built with Battalions of history
Rules grounded and pounded in stone
Cracked with the coming
Of us.
We are the Crows
Singing ballads
Sewing hope
Serving justice
From rusted trumpets
We call our sisters to rally.
On the ledge of your laws we stand
Tiptoe
Hand in hand
We march
Forward.
