“Blinds – A response to Caitlin Cass”
It’s yourself you want to remodel
Swearing, “this is the last time” after every bottle
A Nosferatu, where a reflection alone can haunt you
Your own mind can double cross and not be remorseful
In the stillness of dusk, peace doesn’t feel so bliss
Where a crisp zephyr of lavender loses to the neurosis
Insatiable appetite for distraction I guess
And self-worth is nil without a certified blue check
Habitually conditioned for attention, desensitized it seems
Inebriated from a tall frosted mug of low-self esteem
A house in not always a home, quite possibly a penitentiary
Misplacing the master key locked out of our inner mystery
If a window is a look into the soul through the eyes
It’s not the door that’s the problem, probably best to change the blinds
