Backlit building edges melt away into golden, hot sunlight along this Salem alley, facing south behind Burchfield’s home. Prussian blue shadows define tree masses, neighbors’ houses and sheds, and sagging telegraph poles hewn from slender trees. A red-violet path is overgrown with grass, suitable for foot traffic only.
