The Buffalo Society of Artists’ 100th annual exhibition, held at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center in 1996, included a CD-ROM featuring the work of 104 artists, represented by images of artwork, biographies, and artist's statements. The exhibition, selected by guest juror Penney Knowles, presented work by forty artists, including Rodney Jones. In contrast to traditional works, Buffalo News art critic Richard Huntington wrote: “Quirkier works stand out from this backdrop: Rodney Jones' finely wrought squiggle-figures enriched by embossment and delicate coloring; Yoonsook Ryang's yoking of prehistoric imagery with painterly abstraction; Irene Haupt's photo portrait, "Thea," with its incorporated scrawl on glass, and Ellen M. Ryan's clever take on Eadweard Muybridge's motion studies.”
