Artists’ Statement: We created this work to contribute to the Our Story Project, and the LeRoi Johnson Art Internship. We also wanted to bring awareness to modern issues like pollution, while still having colorful, free art on the other side. We also included the handprints of everyone at the Northland Workforce Training Center from the custodians to the program supervisors working at the facility to show inclusiveness and spread the joy! We hope the audience appreciates both the front and back for the work and emotion we all put into it.
