Luna Moth (Actias luna)
Wingspan 3 1/8–4 1/2" (80-115 mm) Wings pale green; fore wings have purple front margins, hind wings have long tails. Caterpillar, to 3 1/8” (80 mm), is green with a yellow stripe on each side, spiny tubercles, and hair. This beautiful moth is only found in North America. It is now considered an endangered species because many have been killed by pollutants and pesticides.
