we managed to collect $75 to send. To station after lunch. The operator there said the telegram would have to go thru Plattsburg whereas the main office girl had said Syracuse. After I got home we looked up Plattsburg and found it to be on Lake Champlain 200 miles away from Morrisville—Followed calls to Central Station & the main office girl who promised to straighten out the other operator on it. ; By this time I was in a sort of rage—but nevertheless went out to the studio determined to work if only for a couple hours. Which I did—as dark came on, I had to quit. After supper we went out to the Studio B thought my start was O.K. & it looked better to me.; ; ; ; ; Dec. 11—Sat.; All morning & early P.M. on Dec. Storm, putting in some of the foreground.; About 3 P.M.—B. M & I to Garnett Club for “Open House—“—(Mrs. Jackson said Farrow interested in buying the “Song of the Cicada”; About 9:30 call from Bruce Mitchell, about a show for Bucknell College—wanted me to come in where he was visiting—I declined as I fell all in. Make date for 4 P.M. tomorrow.; ; ; ; ; Dec. 12—Sun. ; Dark—raining—S.W. wind.—; P.M.—Mitchell & his host Mr. Bauer came early—about 3 P.M. & only stayed an hour.; ; ; ; ; Dec. 14 (Tues.); P.M.
