imaginary (based on early French [calendar] paintings)Tuesday Nov. 2 –Election Day—after voting B & I to Wyoming Village—a lovely day, much of the “color” gone but what was left, beautiful. The tamarack on Clinton St—a rich golden brown or old gold, against a background of deep green firs. (Later on route 20A east of Varysburg a whole nursery of them, intermingled with pine & fir.)At Wyoming, a woman, whom I had called to her door, to inquire of her about the “honey” place, told us of a good tea room in Pavilion “Snyder’s” so we drove there. A good lunch. At the table next to us four men, one of whom reminded me of Wm. Hanson (he & Mrs. H bought a water color of mine a couple years ago). The longer I looked the more I became convinced it was him. However I lacked the nerve to ask him. After they left I asked the waitress & she said it was “Bill” Hanson. So after lunch we went to his “office” and made myself known. He showed us some jewelry they had “picked up” in Arizona this summer.Home thru Wyoming Village & Warsaw—Stopped to see the Werner’s—Mr. W had had a fall (he is 93) and can not walk anymore. Mrs. W seems unchanged. She is like a little cricket
