Much worse than in August. She had difficulty sometimes in talking—she was very miserable, said palsied arm the worst annoyance as it would not let her rest.She mentioned the water color of Franklin Square which I gave her—whether she should leave it to Ethel I said it suited me fine.We felt so helpless, there was nothing we could do except to pray God to be merciful and take her soon.Next to see Walter & Helen. (Thru Washingtonville and on the South Greene Rd.—they were pleased to hear all about our Winfield visit. Then to Olive’s – the place just seemed full of grandchildren. Anna Laura & later Bob then Kate and Freddie.A good chicken dinner at Mary’s – and good fun. I stole away a few moments to see Mary D.—after I rang the bell twice without results, I noticed a light under the bath room [sic] door, so concluded she was taking a bath—and left. ; ; ; ; ; Sunday Oct. 24 —All of us up early—rushing around to get off—they to go to Cleveland for the day & we to start for Gardenville.
