At Belleville we looked up a church for Art to attend. Pastor Spitz – when a lady asked ou answered our ring I said “Is Pastor Smitz – I mean Spitz in” she proved to be Mrs. Spitz. After we had learned the time of services, we went on.; Crossed the Missippi [sic] on Eads Bridge. To business district – parked and found our way to ______ Tavern, where Art said the food was pretty good.; After lunch, Art to Forest Park – the Jefferson Memorial – trying to find Concordia Seminary – a Catholic college – Washington University. Eventually find the Seminary – the original Log Cabin & bell tower (sunlight on the curled hand-split shingles beautiful) – oak trees (acorns) – asking one of the yard men about the broadcasting station.; Difficulty finding Dr. Moier’s home. Could not find 801 DeMun – up & down DeMun several times. Learned that 801 DeMun designates the whole Seminary & grounds. Eventually arrive at Dr. Moier’s home.; The Moiers about to leave for Detroit (at 6:00 PM. – Mrs. Moier surprised but pleased – later Dr. Moier appeared and welcomed us in his characteristically hearty manner. They promised to have Art to dinner after they were “settled down” which would be about a month. ; A few snap-shots taken, then Mrs. Moier insisted on showing us a little of the seminary – beautiful German gothic, the stonework & slate roofs beautiful (pink stones from Kansas quarries – white from Indiana & yellow from Perry County where the original Seminary stood)
