Aug. 25 (Wed.). Hot dry weather continuesAn infection of some sort in my left eye – swollen half shut.Aug 27, (Friday).A very hot day, with some humidity. –My eye worse today – nevertheless I feel the need of painting. All day on a reconstruction of a 1933 sketch of Goehle’s. At the end of the day, call Englebert (the jeweller [sic]) to recommend an eye- doctor in the neighborhood. He gives me the name of the Milton Palmer, in the Seneca Theater building. Make a date for tomorrow at 12:00. Aug. 28 (Sat.) Letter from Art – will be home next Friday or Saturday.To Dr. Palmer. He said it was not serious, gave me a prescription after treating it. P.M. B & I to Lafayette to see “Fussin’, Feudin’, & Fightin’” – (Don O’Connor, Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride). Don O’Connor was as good as ever.
