Oct. 29 (Wed.); P.M. to Arcade & Cuba Country—; Raining with overcast skies. I did not seem to be in the right mood. Not until I was headed north (north of Iochua on Route 16) did I park and go for a walk. Up a hill, at sunset (the clouds begin to break—)—A nondescript woods,—but I felt like an alien—how long will it take me to get back?; Ate my lunch in the car, at last twilight. Home at a leisurely pace.; ; ; ; ; Oct. 30—(Thurs.); M. got rejection slip from P.A. I felt bad for her & blamed myself.; Working in studio on wok-like folders for early (1915-16) water-colors, which I intend to use for my drawers too. ; Ran out of chip-board in mid P.M. Had Art drive me in to Alling-Coy & get more. Also got some 30x40 mounting board.; Evening—raw & chilly—drizzle & wind from N.E.; Reading a mystery by Agatha Christie. Treats or Tricks Girls (13 of them) Pal. ; ; ; ; ; Oct. 31—(Fri.; Letter from Louise—she is coming Sat 1:10.; Dark drizzling morning—B & M to City line for groceries. I to Buffalo to bank & to market for meat & green goods.; Day spent on folders for drawings. When I get done, they will be much more convenient to refer to.; Early P.M. the clouds part, the air is cleaner & cooler, sun comes on gloriously. Even. Treats of Tricks, boys (4) & girls (3).; ; ; ; ; Nov. 1—; A Dream—of being left a fortune of $500,000 by an eccentric millionaire of Toronto, Canada. From beginning to end the dream was so complete
