After our return to Salem, we sat & talked awhile, then to bed.; The Blue-Jays.Sunday—up late—to church (the rest had gone before to Sunday School) difficulty in finding the place. Arrived with just about 2 min. to spare. An excellent sermon by Rev. Mennen. ; All of us had been invited by Helen to dinner & the day. Pat invited too, came to church. All of us to Helens. A good chicken dinner and good fun.; P.M. B & I to Salem to see Mrs MacMillan. We found her not nearly as good as last year. She has failed a lot—difficulty in talking. However she knew us, and appreciated our coming.; Called on Ana R. but not at home.; “ ” Stamp Girls, on 10th St. Mrs. Lampher & daughter Bea—nice.; Out Ellsworth and over 2 mile cruised to Canfield Rd. To Walter & Helen’s for supper & evening. All but Dick & I take Emma home. Dick & I later to Salem.Monday:—up fairly early—raining. Leave for C about 10:15—(14 to Streetsboro, right on 43, 43 to Route 8, north on 8 to Warrensville, (8 turns left here) straight north on Warrensville Center Rd, to Mayfield Rd, left on Mayfield, right on Taylor Rd, to Euclid [left on Euclid to Strathmore] The rain ceased after awhile & the sun came out. A park on Shaker Heights to eat & apple & relax —); Getting to Cleveland about 12:00, we decided first to call on Dorothy & August Kunz. We looked it up on the map & planned our route, then decide to get lunch first. (The route would be—from Euclid—north on Coit, left on ?—right on 152 St. North on 152 to Ridpath, left on Ridpath—However a bridge was down & we had to detour west to 140th).
