Evening—B & I to Mart’s to help her pick out a couple water-colors to send to the Penna. Acad.—Ice-ream & cookies. Presented the blanket.; I turned the radio off on when I went to bed, planning to listen to the “rubber” game at Syracuse, but went to sleep before the broadcast started—; ; ; ; ; Sept. 25 (Thurs.); Confused dreams in the night—but one impression remains—that of having a group of negros singing beautifully the spiritual “All Gods Children Got Wings”; Pal wandered into my room and kept waking me with his restlessness. Either he was getting up on the bed or getting off. Toward morning he stretched out close to me and laid his head on my arm. His warmth was pleasant as the weather had turned colder. As soon as B’s alarm went off, he jumped off, and went to the heart of the stairs to wait for her.; A fresh pleasant September morning—with rich blue skies and big cumulus clouds. In spite of the recent frost, all nature seems yet fresh & green.; To Red Star Express office to pay my bill. I was delighted to pleasantly surprised at the comfortably low charge:—19.41 for 1200 lbs.; It is pleasant to dawdle.; ; ; ; ; Sept. 26 (Fri.); Late P.M. called gallery to see if pictures had arrived. They had not; not even at the Red Star Depot.
