On the radio a symphony (#3) by Charles Ives. Very good, it had a slight resemblance to the music of V. Williams.; ; ; ; ; _______________; Evening B & I for walk about the town—a little cooler, but not enough to drive away the mosquitos which bit me unmercifully.; ; ; ; ; ; Sept. 15—(Mon.); Letters from Sally & Cathie—Pictures of Evie, the baby & their new dog with Sally’s letter.; All day on the “Lavender & Old Lace”—the work went well.; A.M. Telegram from the Art Society in Ann Arbor, asking me to receive on a jury of Selection & Award Oct. 6—I declined, but with some regret as a trip to Michigan at that time might be interesting.; A shower at late afternoon. Cooler, the sky an Autumn Sky.; Evening—vegetating—listening to radio, altho the fare was mediocre. An accident A collision between two cars out part provided a momentary excitement.
