To me the crowning point of our trip— ; We spent the whole morning here—then satiated with woods—we headed north for home.; There is not much more to relate—Behn Kane we ran thru miles of solid woods (The U.S. Grit Forest Reservation)—we ate lunch on the woods edge. At Bradford we bought supplies for our evening meal, but when we got within 40 miles of home at 5:45 we decided to go straight home.; It was good to get home & food all was well. Good to see the youngsters & our dog.July 25—(Friday)—; I had thought the wonderful woods & hills of our trip would make our yard seem mean & trivial–But it looked good, & it seemed good to be here. (had mowed & trimmed up the yard.). In my studio, the study of the deep woods I made (June 27) on the Warner Hill Rd. seemed better to me than before I left.; ; ; ; ; __________________; I forgot to mention in my account yesterday, of the stop we made on 84, several miles south of the “Sulphur Stream- pink lady slipper” spot.—Here a beautiful trout stream (clear cold water running over stones) attracted up—While we were admiring it, we noticed some white flowers on the other side growing (as we thought) close to the ground.
