There was a flat topped stove at one side with two of the lids off, revealing glowing hot coals inside. Seizing a hooked poker, I shouted “All right, let’s end everything” and catching the hook in the stove I overturned it, scattering the red coals over the floor and filling the place with steam & smoke. My actions seemed to do something to the farmer—white faced, he whispered hoarsely “Go, go, get out, and never come back”—at this point I awoke.; ; ; ; ; ______________An amusing, or perhaps I should say—embarrassing incident in town—coming up to a street intersection—A thin middle—aged negro lady was half—way across. As she hesitated to allow me to proceed, I smiled and nodded my head to indicate that she should go ahead. Evidently she interpreted my action as flirtation for she simpered, and raised her shoulders, and grinned, all in a manner that she was plainly making sport of me.
