silence—; Afterward—to market for ham & fruit.; ; ; ; ; _____________; A warm drowsy day with great sunlit thunderclouds—; For supper—black raspberry shortcake with ice-cream. Indescribable!; Late Evening—Art said that he had been asked to go along with the air scouts (who have been travelling planning a two weeks canoe outing at Algonquin Park in Canada) to help with the driving—to go up Saturday & return Monday. Of course, we gave our permission.July 11—; A.M. B & I to Dr.’s—(wart on B’s back has started to become infected also)—Dr. using novocaine [sic], but it hurt on my side.—Both to go back Sunday A.M.; P.M. ; B & I to Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Lackawanna to visit Mrs. Smeja (She & Mr. Smeja in an automobile accident on their way to their new home in Cleveland – this happened last week)—taking flowers. They seemed glad to see us; she was in better shape than we expected, in spite of her broken leg & arm. Mr. S. escaped with a cut on his nose. Mr. S’s sister came in while we were there; Evening B—M.A. & I to Seneca to see Red House Mystery” and a Michael Shane mystery—Three on a Ticket. B & I had seen both of these before, but enjoyed them nevertheless. An amusing cartoon of two crows bedevilling [sic] a hound.
