distant woods—Deep purple shadows in the tree-depths—; A boy after cows—his call a peculiar “Kike-Kake Kike”—after a bit, he returned with a head of black & white cows.—up the road they go—the stupidity of a motorist who honked his horn at them so he could pass.; ; ; ; ; __________________; After lunch—south on the Vermont Hill Rd 5 miles or more to Holland County Line Rd—west thru Holland to Center St Rd & North to E.A.—Bouquet of orange daylilies and yellow St. John’s Wort.; Letter from F.R. (written at Rehnwood, Magnolia) with check for $1000—(Appalachian Evening) and words of encouragement—says he may be able to extend the present gallery lease 1 year at double the rent.July 9—; Dull and lifeless all day.; Evening—B & I to meet Evie but she & C gone. They had not had time to telephone before taking bus.July 10 (Thurs.).; M & I to Statler to W.L. Talent Quest.
