June 23—(Mon.).; Art’s graduation day.; A.M. ; Shopping for food etc for the dinner tonight (we had invited Berlin’s.); They came early. A session in the studio. Then dinner (Roast Chicken) & then to the school.; A nice affair. (Art received a medal for highest science scholarship and a pin for one of two best essays on Americanism.); Afterwards refreshments at home.; ; ; ; ; ____________; A fine brilliant day—with dry air.June 24—; P.M. ; B & I shopping in town—(M’s Birthday present etc.)June 25—Wed.; Day spent visiting various lumber companies in search of molding for frame. I got something at each place (Brady’s [small drawing here] & [small drawing here])—Heinrich [small drawing here]) Zoladz – [small drawing here] strange molding) and Gardenville Lumber [small drawing here] - doorstop)—By using these together I can get some acceptable moldings.; Evening—B—M—A—& I to Capitol to see “The Perfect Marriage” (David Niven & Loretta Young)—Rather amusing—and “Ginger” a story about a boy & a dog that for unreality and pure hokum any of the old Alger books. A cartoon—Bugs Bunny playing the 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody (which we had seen before) very delightful, and just as enjoyable as on a first viewing.June 26—(Thurs.); Picked up some more molding at Brady’s.
