P.M. Letters to Frank, George & Jim—anxious that they get out, I persuade Art to go with me to the Central Station. Tho [sic] the storm was bad, we had no trouble until on the return, when a couple cars, stuck in the drifting snow, held up traffic at the west end of our village. We were “marooned” about an hour. Finally got thru—difficulty in getting in our drive. Mar. 4—5— “Snowbound”— Work on the reconstructed 1939 “Hill Country after a shower” for the C&O. I will re-name it “Appalachian Twilight” or Evening— Mar. 7 (Friday)—P.M. B & I to see a return of “Moonlight Sonata” Paderewski’s part as fine as ever, but, except for the good acting of Marie Tempest, the rest of it was terrible— Evening—call from Geo. Olds—he says “all is well” for the moment. Mar. 8— Letter from F.—check for $1000 from “Home in the Back Country” Re-Mounting & enlarging shed in swamp (from 29 x 41 to 43 x 56)
