A brisk “sap” day.
A.M. in studio working on Peterbird enlargement—
Letter from Sally explaining her real reason for leaving her job, a reason which proves she is a thorobred [sic].
P.M. To Buffalo to have suit pressed; to good will [sic] & bank. Loose masses of cloud have obscured the sky, and presently thick flurries of snow fill the air.
Mar. 31—
Blizzard-like gusts of snow, the ground thickly covered.
Apr. 2—
Art confirmed. I, with 5 others-- formally received into the church.

Art & I to [Gowanda].
A brisk brilliant sun shiny day; a golden day for both of us. It was a constant delight to Art, and his continuous enthusiasm at each new “event” was a tonic to me. We were in complete harmony.
Parked the car by the high tension wire station—Then fields toward the canyon. A giant skeleton of a chestnut, with ten robins in its branches, all facing the sun. Like a rite of some sort; something legendary about it—Another huge chestnut remains—Art climbed up on it. The fallen tree like a dragon—
