Lite inquiries involving his recent South America trip, he brought up the car question, I pretended diffidence in the matter, -- (tho probably I did not fool him, any more then I did myself.) We arranged that he should come over with frames etc.; When I called Bertha, I told her about it, she warmly seconded the idea, and so by the time I had reached home, I think our minds were made up that we would get a new car.; ; ; ; ; Apr. 14 (Sunday) – ; Evening – we have bought a new car, in fear & mumbling, afraid to be happy.; I think we all counted the minutes all day until Danny should come. He brought a brand new car with him, that had just been delivered the day before – a gun-metal gray, with maroon wheels – we all fell in love with it at once, and when I took it out on a “trial”, we knew we “had to love it”. We made arrangements to close the deal tomorrow, and the car is to be delivered at 4 P. M. ; ; ; ; ; Apr. 15 – (Monday) – ; A.M. to Buffalo, to Bank etc. Walking around the city. Over in Delaware, a bright sunny morning, a mildness in the air, a feeling of Spring again.; When I was going to lunch, I met Johnny Molan, (of the Binge Co. – He had worked in the “Sanctuary” (engraved) dept – He said he had not been there in some time. We stood and gabbed about the factory for a while. He mentioned something about Paddy Lyans, and I determined after lunch to drive out and see him. Which I did.
