went down into the village (Wyoming) for lunch. We first went for a stroll. (The Presbyterian Church a beauty, and many interesting old houses.-) The “town-hall” – a new building, in the English style. We went in, found that it was grange day there; we considered getting lunch there, but with my unshaven face I felt I would be too conspicuous. We got a sandwich and coffee at a grocery story. ; After a few more studies, we went on to Warsaw, and then home.; ; ; ; ; April 5 – ; B & I shopping in Buffalo. First a spring coat & hat for her, at J. M. Adam, -- then a new suit for me at A. M. A’s (Andson’s) – ; ; ; ; ; April 6 – (Saturday); Anthon & I to harbor – I to look for “sketch material” – Anthon’s thoroughly enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and the trains. Uptown -- & I to make studies of a building on Genesee Street. This was a subject I had made an abortive attempt at some years ago, (perhaps 1931 & 31) Looking at it in the studies last month it seemed to have possibilities. Today, as I looked at the building again, I felt at last I had found my spring’s work. And all thoughts of the country, and “nature” subjects, faded away.
