Martha, Mary Alice & Gerry (who used one sled together) have a mishap, Martha losing control of sled, & Gerry & M.A. crashing into the metal guard ropes. M.A. with cut over eye which seemed much worse at first than later proved. Gerry “out” for a few seconds. First Aid at the pavilion, & then we went home.; Futile attempts to get in touch with either Dr. Ehringer or Miano – we decide to leave it go until morning.; ; ; ; ; Feb 23 –; Snow in the night, drifts around and over the old gray soggy snow piles, creating beautiful effects. ; A brilliant day – a “sugar-sap-day, and I find my heart too full of excitement to write about it.; The raw southwest wind – what a tang to it – I feel like exposing my whole body to its invigorating buffeting –; The smoky blue glint in the trees –; Sunwards the sky is a singing blue-white – a marvelous tone.; ; ; ; ; Feb. 24 – (Sat.); Mounting paper in studio all day – emerging only at 4 P.M. to drive over & get girls from their music lessons.; Evening – concert – Schubert’s Seventh – a glorious music and I was attune to it.; ; ; ; ; Feb. 26 – Mon –; A.M. mounting new paper in studio –; P.M. Mrs. Rudd (originally from Ohio) out to visit studio.
