A fascinated with box-cars. We climb one & walk along the tops – French Rd bridge. Coming home by Union Rd we amused ourselves by throwing a chain fragment along the road, vying with each other in following it’s (sic) course with our eyes.; About 11:00 B & I, with A & C to Buffalo. Bertha to look at coats, the youngsters to get shoes.; ; ; ; ; ________________; The upper air is expanding with a brilliant white light. The upsurge of power towards spring is irrepressible.; In town the humps of ice of some dark furnished metal – (too dark for nickel, gun-metal, but of that quality); About 6 P.M. all of us except Sally to Chestnut Ridge (G.P. along too) – Full moon about a half-hour high in the east, in the west Jupiter & Venus high in the sky, glowing marvelously. A beautiful winter night, calm, cold.; While children coast, B & I watch, or make excursions to the “pavilion” to get warm (two great fireplaces – parts of evergreens around) –
