& foot-board of the old bed, which I took along.; On our way by 11:00. A rather monotonous drive, the latter part mostly raining –; Lunch at Conneatt –; Home by 5:3- - Fine to be with the youngsters again in a cheerfully lighted home.; ; ; ; ; _________; ; ; ; ; Dec. 2. – (Saturday); In studio much of the day – putting up some of my “curious” – the Lace Gable bracket with pine cone – the bed head piece over the double window – the crow over the Victrola – corn on the walls, and gourds, another crow grouped around the winter bouquet on the shelf.; ; ; ; ; ___________; Evening – Last Beethoven Concert –; Fantasia for Piano, Orchestra & Chorus – (piano especially beautiful –; Ninth Symphony – The first three movements are the best – and played superbly – their beauty & power pour in on me anew –; The last movement was marred by the sopranos, who sometimes could not quite make it.; ; ; ; ; Dec. 4 –; Shopping –; Evening before Supper – I take a brisk walk and feel an exuberance and vigor I have not felt for a long time – I suddenly said to myself – “tomorrow I am going painting.” –
